A Little About Us

And Our Ever Expanding Company

so many trust us as

Since its inception, Bio Logical has focused on achieving the next level in service. In addition to Bio Logical’s certification as a DBE and WBE, Bio Logical is certified as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB), and as a Local Nevada Emerging Small Business (NESB).

Bio Logical upholds a standard of safety that extends beyond the members of our team, working closely with crews on the ground to meet and exceed the requirements unique to each work environment. In addition, the Bio Logical team is available and ready to accommodate fluctuating and sudden project schedules.

The owner and lead biologist for Bio Logical is Alana Frost. Alana has a degree in Biology from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. Her degree expands upon her background in construction implementation, and 15 years of experience leading teams in a variety of environments, with 10 of those years in biological consulting. She has, over the years, maintained formidable relationships with agency personnel and worked to adjust project requirements based on previous experience and unforeseen circumstances. Having worked in every stage of biological consulting, she is uniquely qualified to continuously evaluate the cost and quality of work while ensuring the biological documents are upheld.

The Bio Logical team has a wide variety of experience, with specialties in multiple fields. Our team has provided services for projects in the desert environment since 1996, affording the unique experience of observing the many changes that have occurred throughout the desert tortoise industry over the years. Our biologists have experience as Field Contact Representatives, Environmental Inspectors, Natural Resource Technicians, and Authorized Biologists, and have managed field crews associated with large scale solar, power transmission corridors, roads and pipelines. Additionally, accumulated field experience includes passive relocation of burrowing owls, raptor nest and nesting bird surveys, and desert big horn sheep monitoring and mitigation.

Research efforts have included disease monitoring, highway passage, home range monitoring and translocation, and husbandry. We encompass a multi-state understanding of project mitigation measures coordinating efforts between biological crews, contractors and BLM representatives.
